Restorative yoga is a practice that is focused on slowing down and opening your body through passive, supported stretching. During the long holds of restorative yoga, muscles and connective tissues are allowed to relax and elongate deeply as props, rather than muscles, are doing the work. This workshop will be recorded and available for one month following the event.
The wall is an extension of the yoga classroom, and can help in many poses beyond balancing or inversions. In this lively workshop, we will have fun experimenting with how the wall can aid or deepen your practice in a variety of seated, standing, and reclined poses.

Ideal for anyone with tight hamstrings, sciatica, or back pain. The focus will be on isolating the backs of the legs and using yoga therapeutic techniques to bring about a greater range of motion and flexibility to the hamstrings, which can decrease any overcompensation made by the spine – often the culprit of hip strain and chronic low back pain.
Amir will teach you how to create a customized routine to address your specific low back dysfunctions and related pains. He'll review the anatomy of the lower back and sacroiliac joint, as well as common misalignments, muscles spasms, compression, and disc issues. Using yoga therapeutics, as well as techniques from Egoscue, Somatics, and Thai Yoga Massage, Amir will offer tools to self-evaluate and find ease from both chronic and acute conditions.

The psoas is arguably the most influential skeletal and postural muscle of the body. It links the spine, diaphragm, and legs, acting as a messenger between the inner self and the outer world. While the psoas muscle is extraordinarily sensitive and responsive, we often find it difficult to feel or locate it within the body, and often it is the culprit for chronic hip pain, back pain, and digestive issues. Amir's workshop can help you learn how to maintain proper flexibility and functionality of the psoas, and create a psoas maintenance routine. Suitable for all people - no yoga experience necessary.
