Slouching or hunching is far from flattering, but more importantly, recent studies are confirming that a hunched posture is associated not only with increased neck tension and impaired mobility but also with increased risk of falls, shortness of breath, heart and lung disease, as well as depression and anxiety. The good news is that a hunched posture (hyperkyphosis) is reversible. Once you learn the key yoga exercises, all you need is 2 yoga blocks and 5-10 minutes a day.

Do you wish to “be the change” but have no idea where to start, how to start, or even if you really want to start? Do you flounder between “just focusing on the yoga” and feeling guilty because you’re unsure how to address issues of racial justice in your yoga space? Do you just want to understand the relationship between yoga and racial equity once and for all? Are you ready to do the hard work? This training series will meet five Thursday evenings, October 29 – December 3 (no class on Thanksgiving).
