The rising generation of young people are experiencing stress at far greater levels than any other previous generation. Studies show that girls are finding it even more challenging to navigate everyday teenage angst, plus the added tensions that manifest through such conditions like disordered eating, sleep issues, depression, and anxiety.
In this workshop, we will use a foundation of simple and accessible yoga postures, mindful breathing, and meditation techniques to help girls solve or avoid problems, and learn to constructively and creatively respond to those they can’t avoid. We will explore practices that can help manage emotions and regulate responses to life stressors. We’ll talk about healthy food choices and daily personal habits that can support positive body image and higher self esteem. We will work together as a group to help each other find ways to build a stronger foundation from which to construct a positive and successful life. Girls will leave with a handout of listed resources, meditations and ideas to use after the workshop.
