Breathe In the Magic of Iceland: Six-Day Yoga Vacation with Annie & Amir

For this exciting trip of breathtaking beauty, we’re teaming up with our friend and travel guide Kim Schleicher. She's pulled together a magnificent itinerary for six days of magical, mystical beauty as a backdrop to the latest installment of our signature yoga trips. We'll offer inviting and totally accessible yoga practices, and you'll experience the easy-going camaraderie among your Sun & Moon friends and family.

August 25 Depart US

August 26 Arrive Keflavik, Iceland. Optional early morning visit to the Blue Lagoon. A great way to begin the adventure and dive into the beauty of Iceland. You’ll catch the bus directly from the Airport to the Blue Lagoon, then head to our first night’s hotel in Reykjavik. You can store your luggage at the hotel and head out to explore the city. Stroll the vibrant Old Harbor and Grand District, Reykjavik’s newest hip district with small shops, museums, coffee bars and restaurants. Stop by the new Harpa Concert Hall and climb the church tower of Hallgrimskirkja to view the city. We’ll meet as a group at 5:30 PM at our hotel for our opening circle and orientation.

August 27 We travel along the south coast with a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall for a walk in the mists. We will continue past the looming Eyjafjoll Mountains including the glacier volcano Eyjafjallajokul, that erupted in 2010 to see the black volcanic sand beaches in Reynisfjara. Yoga class and overnight in Kirkjubaejarklaustur. B, L, D

August 28 Today we visit Jokulsarlon, the glacial lagoon at the southern edge of the Vatnajokull glacier that is regarded as one of Iceland’s greatest natural wonders. Huge chunks of ice regularly calve off the glacier and make their way to the sea via the glacier lagoon. Continuing to the small Fjallsarlon Glacier lagoon we tour the Skaftafell area of Vatnajokull National Park. Here you can see lush vegetation , icebergs, canyons, hanging valleys, arches and more in the vast and varied Park. On the way back to our hotel we’ll stop at Dverghamrar, the Dwarf Cliffs a small canyon of unusual hexagonal basalt columns. Yoga class and overnight in Kirkjubaejarklaustur. B, L, D

August 29 We leave for the Classic Golden Circle and begin with the Gulfoss waterfall. This two tiered waterfall drops 32 meters into a 70 meter canyon a mile long. It is spectacular. Next we’ll visit the Geysir area with its spouting geysers and colorful hot springs. We complete the Golden Circle a the beautiful Pingvellir National Park. This Unesco World Heritage site is an ancient assembly site of the Vikings and the start of the Icelandic Parliment in 930 AD. It was here on June 17, 1944 that Iceland celebrated their independence form Denmark. Pingvellir plains are located on the north Atlantic rift that splits Iceland from the North America and Eurasian continents. Yoga class and overnight in Selfoss. B. L. D

August 30 Continuing our journey through the volcanic wonderland of the Reykjanes Peninsula. We’ll stop at lighthouses, geothermal areas and mud pools, working our schedule with the energy of the group. Return to Reykjavik for farewell dinner together. Overnight in Reykjavik.. B, L, D

August 31 Depart for home

Cost details:

$2995 per person (in double room- with 2 beds) Single Supplement: + $500 . Triple room (per person) -$100.

Tour Price Includes: group transfer from Keflavik airport (times, TBA) accommodations for 5 nights, all breakfasts, 4 lunches and 4 dinners, English speaking Icelandic guide, transportation in a high-quality van or bus, all taxes and fees, classes with Annie and Amir

Does not include: round trip airfare to Keflavik, Iceland (arrive 8/26, depart 8/31) meals and drinks not listed on itinerary, items of a personal nature, gratuities.
