Functional fitness is a training approach focused on preparing the body for the demands of daily life. Its philosophy centers on improving physical capacity to perform real life activities with greater ease and reduced injury risk. This approach can also improve athletic performance. The fitness industry has identified 7 key functional movements which include squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, gait, and carry.
In this workshop you'll learn to identify these seven movements, and how a yoga practice can creatively incorporate each. You'll learn options at gentle, moderate and more vigorous levels, with and without hand weights and resistance bands.
It's never too early to start preparing for your New Year's intentions! So, come join us to lay the groundwork before the holidays.
Some yoga experience is suggested. Room temp 72 degrees.
