Weather the winds of change in a more balanced way with the centering tools of yoga. Learn how some of the lesser-explored aspects of yoga such as affirmation, chant, and application of the yamas and niyamas (in particular santosha or contentment) can be powerful moderators of high stress environments. Along with a sprinkling of tried and true asana, pranayama, and yoga wisdom, we will consider which practices we can best weave into our busy lives. By the end of the workshop we will have an action plan to build resilience to the near constant onslaught of stress and negativity generated by "inside the beltway" living and 24/7 media coverage of unsettling events. Experienced and new yogis will be inspired to make fuller use of centuries-old yoga practices proven to create and maintain inner peace.
