Tara Bishop
Tara began her Yoga journey with a 12-week intro class as a gift from her husband after the birth of their son in 1996. In 2014 Tara came across an introduction to Meditation weekend at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, CA, while visiting the area for work. After an amazing weekend learning how to mediate, her joyful path toward becoming a yoga teacher began to unfold.
Over the next four years she became a teacher in meditation, yoga, and Ayurveda at the Chopra Center, and in 2016 began a community class in DC. Tara also teaches for the nonprofit where she serves as Deputy Chief Executive.
Tara’s classes are grounded in the Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga and the union of body, mind and spirt. The breath is the bridge between the mind and the body and invites us back to our natural state of balance. Tara completed her 300-hour advanced training at Sun & Moon in 2024, and she loves sharing the teachings and experiences of yoga to all of the communities she serves.
