In-Depth Teacher Training & Advanced Studies

Our 200-Hour Foundations program begins shortly after Labor day, and our 300-Hour Dharma Program will launch in January. If you're interested in joining this year's cohort, let us know!

Our training programs are for students or current teachers of yoga who realize that yoga is a deeply intimate event for the body-mind-spirit and that its beauty lies in how differently it is expressed from person to person. We offer essential information and tools to help guide the emerging teacher in finding his or her unique voice and style of teaching.

Foundations Program - 200-hour Basic Teacher Training
Our basic teacher training meets and exceeds Yoga Alliance's RYT- 200 hour requirement. This program is for anyone seeking to deepen their practice and understanding of yoga, whether it's to share with and teach it to others, or enhance one's own experience of yoga's depths.

Dharma Program - 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training
For current teachers to refine and specialize their own practice and skills as they find their “yoga calling.” These 300 hours build on a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification and feature flexibility in start date, program pace and payment schedule. The program can be completed in two years. Current Proficiency and Fluency program candidates merge seamlessly into the Dharma Program.

Why "In-Depth"?

Our program name is deliberate.  We set the stage for life-long study. Rather than rushing through generalized certification standards, we focus our work on the rich and deep traditions of classical yoga. Sun & Moon In-Depth stands apart from other teacher training programs with:

  • Master teaching from some of the country’s most prominent teachers;
  • Richly eclectic training and inspiration from Sun & Moon’s own senior teachers;
  • A vast web of learning from each other as our strong and committed community continually expands;
  • Support and guidance in the direction that serves you. We set the stage for life-long study.
More than a just a wonderful pathway into all of the dimensions yoga, with skilled and wonderful teachers, the program has turned out to be a gateway into myself.  This, and the meaningful friendships I’ve made, have been life-changing.

Ultimately, the journey of yoga has as much to do with our commitment to the path as the accumulation of knowledge. Nothing can substitute for the experience of applying to daily life what we take in as classroom study. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of yoga for your own development, to teach it to the general public , or to take your current teaching and use it to specialize in a certain population, our programs provide the skills to practice/teach/live with intelligence, safety and joy. You’ll sharpen skills of observation to wisely discern appropriate techniques to meet your own and every unique need and aspiration.
