Inverting one’s body can provide great health benefits: support for lymphatic fluids, restfulness for the heart, decompression of the spine, a shift one’s perspective, provide arm and shoulder strength and opening, calm the mind, improve sleep, and more. In this inversion immersion we’ll explore in great detail the two most classical ways to invert according to the teachings of hatha yoga. Discussion and study of mid-line training, exploration of the subtle body's central channel, preparatory asana, group discussion, and partner work will be included to support our experience of practicing these maha (“great”) asanas. Many modern day yoga teachers avoid teaching these gems not without good reason! Theresa will lay the ground work and cover techniques to aid the skillful learning and teaching of inverting, safely. Inspired anatomy study will be included, focusing on the parts used to support the inverted shapes. Turn your world upside down, in a good way. Open to any student with interest; special focus for those with some yoga experience and/or those who have completed a 200-hour teacher training.
