A native Northern Virginian with an Irish ancestry, yoga found Valerie with a stressed out monkey-mind, competitive ambitious nature, and the ability to sit still for all of . . . 10 seconds! It was the calming effect that kept Valerie coming back in the early days of practicing and trying to balance a demanding career as an architect. She found that while yoga helped reduce stress and improve physical strength and flexibility, it also provides something more deep and meaningful - increased self-awareness and a foundation for personal growth both her home and work life.
Her love and appreciation of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga inspired her to complete Sun & Moon’s 200-hour In-Depth program in 2014. Valerie has also completed Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery Level 1 training through the Veterans Yoga Project and is a certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra® leader. She believes that yoga is a life long journey of learning and growing and that we are all both students and teachers, continuously gaining and sharing our knowledge with others.
