This program is for those teachers interested in the healing aspects of yoga. This course will adapt the practice of yoga with other systems of healing to help individuals facing health challenges. Yoga Therapy focuses on a healing journey to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit. To complete this program, teachers must fulfill 500 hours of coursework beyond the 700-hr curriculum listed above, plus the writing of a 20-page research paper on a therapeutic topic.
Requirements include the 500 hours of coursework as outlined below which is above and beyond the 700-Hour curriculum. Of the 500 hours of coursework for this program, 270 hours must be contact hours with JJ Gormley, and the remaining 230 can be with other approved teachers. The applicant will take workshops on the topic of Yoga Therapy in the following categories.

1200-Hour Therapeutics applicants must have five years of practice and 1000 hours of teaching yoga before graduation.
Most people complete the 1200-Hour program in about 5-7 years; however you have up to ten years to complete all requirements.

We would like to get a good picture of you as a person on as many levels as possible: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. Questions on your religious background and spiritual practices are a way to get to know you better and will in no way prejudice our decision about your suitability for this program. Please complete the application questions, and submit 4 references (2 personal and 2 from yoga teachers) along with the $30 Application Fee. Once accepted into the program, the administration fee for the program must be paid. Payment plans may be arranged if necessary. This administrative fee covers the development and maintenance of the program. All classes, workshops and retreats to complete the program requirements must be paid as you register for them directly to the Yoga Studio or Center hosting the workshop.
Each Program Administrative Fee is $1500.
